OUTSpoken! Spoken Word for LGBTQIA+ Teens & Allies

OUTSpoken! Spoken Word for LGBTQIA+ Teens & Allies In-Person

For LGBTQIA+ teens and allies in grades 6-12.

Welcome Telling Room Teaching Artist and poet Jack Gendron (he/they/she) for a series of writing and performance workshops. Develop, practice, and perform a spoken word piece. Teens can perform an original or non-original work solo, in pairs, or in groups.

Workshops on Wednesday May 8, 15, & 29. Help us kick off Pride month with a poetry slam on Wednesday, June 5. All are welcome!

Telling Room teaching artist Jack Gendron (he/they/she) is the author of two poetry collections, most recently Weirde Sister, which describes the life, death, and afterlife of a witch in seventeenth-century Switzerland. They have taught college poetry courses, written haiku with seven-year-olds, and worked with writers of all ages. They love books you have to blow the dust off of before opening, and cartoons where someone plays the ribs of a skeleton and it sounds like a xylophone. They are excited to meet you!
