Beware of the Banker: Author Talk with Barry Somes

Beware of the Banker: Author Talk with Barry Somes

Barry Somes, author of Beware of the Banker, will talk about his book, a crime fiction novel inspired by the true story of Bonnie & Clyde, considered the most notorious criminals in U.S. history, second only to Jesse James. The story takes place in the Portland area, including a robbery of a library in Cumberland Center (ahem!), a breakfast at a West Cumberland Church and some events at Greely High School.

Barry Somes is a graduate of Greely High School and knows Cumberland well, having grown up, worked and lived here for many years. He spent some of his formative years working at a commercial bank in Portland, with several years in the internal audit department with responsibility for safeguarding the bank's assets.

Barry has also published The Secrets of Portland, Maine, a collection of facts, trivia and history of Portland. He is now working on his third novel.
