Creative Sewing for Teens

Creative Sewing for Teens In-Person

Teens, do you want to learn how to sew? Are you interested in trying to make your own clothing? Maybe cosplay is your thing? Get involved in the process of creation from idea generation to constructing a garment.

We'll learn about the basics of using a sewing machine and proper tools, practice our skills by making a small bag, and brainstorm, develop, and create your own design. Traditional machine sewing with fabric not your thing? Would you rather use duck tape, hot glue, candy wrappers, and/or old books? We got you covered!

**This is a 6-week series of workshops. Teens will get the most out of the workshops if they can come to all/most of the sessions.**

About the instructor:
Ashley Wernher-Collins is a garment maker and fiber artist living in Cape Elizabeth. Committed to craft and inspired by the natural world, architecture and human experience, her work is both tailored and sculptural. In addition to her private practice, she works at Portland Stage Company, Bowdoin College and Mulxiply.
