Fruit Tree Planting

Fruit Tree Planting

Fruit Tree Planting - We will be planting our first round of fruit trees in the Cumberland Community Orchard, and we’d LOVE your help! Aaron Parker from Edgewood Nursery will be giving tutorials on how to properly plant a fruit tree as we aim to get all 50 apple, pear, plum, cherry, peach, mulberry, quince, and chestnut trees into the ground! We’ll have some tools on hand, but bring along a shovel if you’ve got one and be prepared to get your hands dirty. We'll have a potluck lunch break at noon. We’ll be planting rain or shine.

This event will be held at Cumberland's Community Orchard site, Stiles Way, Cumberland.

Speaker: Aaron Parker, Edgewood Nursery in Falmouth.

Lawns Gone Wild is a yearlong sustainable backyard education series and is offered in collaboration with Town of Cumberland's Sustainability Committee, a subcommittee of the Cumberland Lands and Conservation Committee, and Chebeague and Cumberland Land Trust.
