DanceAbility is Dance for ALL PEOPLE! Our classes bring people with and without disabilities together in a supportive environment, to express themselves, connect and have fun. In this improvisation workshop, everyone makes choices for themselves, and there are no wrong choices! If you like to move to music, this workshop is for you! No experience necessary, ALL people welcome.

MICHAELA KNOX is a Maine-based performer, choreographer, and teacher. She is the founder of Spark Inclusive Arts and a Master Trainer of the Danceability method. She holds an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of New Mexico. She performed with 20 moons Dance Theatre from 2014-2018 in Durango Colorado and is currently the Artistic Director of YES Dance Theatre Ensemble in Bath, ME. Knox is passionate about supporting others in the discovery and research of their self-expression. She considers it her life’s work to help dissolve barriers between people with and without disabilities with the hope of creating a more inclusive society for all people.

JONATHAN BEATON has been dancing with DanceAbility since 2021. He has performed for audiences across Maine in schools and theaters. He recently completed the 30 hour Teacher DanceAbility intensive and plans to become a certified teacher in 2025. Jonathan is most passionate about inspiring others to follow their dreams. He loves to help to teach other students with disabilities to be independent and express themselves.
