Introduction to Tapestry Weaving

Introduction to Tapestry Weaving In-Person

Tapestry weaving is the craft of creating small weavings into pictures. They can be abstract, or represent something.

In 3 classes, we will learn to set up a loom, create a weaving of your own design, and how to remove the finished weaving from the loom. Materials provided will be a small frame loom, a variety of yarn and warp for 2 projects. Please bring scissors, a large bag (such as a resusable shopping bag) and if you have one, a tapestry needle to the first class

Sara Karam began tapestry weaving in 2007. "I have found it to be a way to express myself and enhance my creativity. Unlike other craft projects, when you make a mistake in weaving, you are given a second chance. In offering this class, I am hoping to create a community of other weavers where we can share ideas and help each other."

Registration is limited and required for this three-part workshop series.

Note that the class is held on Fridays, March 7, 14, and 28. There is no class on March 21, which will afford participants the time required at home to work on their projects. If there is a snow/weather cancellation, the missed class will be made up on Friday, April 4.
