Tour of the Falmouth Wastewater Treatment Facility

Tour of the Falmouth Wastewater Treatment Facility In-Person

The Falmouth Wastewater Treatment Facility treats wastewater generated in the homes and businesses in Falmouth and Cumberland. The facility is a barrier between the waste we generate and the environment, consisting of a series of processes that clean the water before it is released to tidal estuary of the Presumpscot River. Wastewater treatment provides a vital service, enabling our community to prosper while protecting the environment.

The facility, along with many others around the country, are facing new challenges – a mixture of equipment age, climate change risks and new priorities for treatment of contamination mean that wastewater treatment facilities are being asked to do more while there are significant costs just to maintain the status quo. Come see the treatment facility in action!

This tour group will meet at the Falmouth Wastewater Treatment Facility, located at 96 Clearwater Drive in Falmouth. Please register, so that we know how many people to expect.
